  1. If the wrong picture is being scanned

  3. Only the area within the moving selection border is kept when you click Accept to start the final scan.  There are a few reasons why the wrong area may be scanned.

  6. >  If the wrong picture was on the scanner glass, click Cancel and start scanning again.

  8. >  Be certain the original picture or page is not moved or removed from the scanner glass between the preview scan and when you click the Accept button.  Accurate scanning depends on the page remaining in the same place.

  10. >  Be certain the moving selection border in the preview area outlines the correct picture. If no selection border appears, the entire scanner glass is scanned during the final scan.  If more than one selection border is automatically drawn by the HP PictureScan software during the preview scan, only one area has a moving border.  Only the area outlined by the moving border will be scanned when you click Accept.Use of a selection border allows you to indicate the area that you want and reduces the scanning time.  For instructions, see How to Select Part of a Page or Picture.
